What are your thoughts regarding concerns about franchises and business chains in Carver County?
I like independent micro and small businesses in this city and also, encourage residents to start their own businesses and grow. Our government will form an advisory committee to study existing businesses and based on the findings, we prepare a road map for the future business development to help existing businesses and startups.
One thing I want to remember is, we need to invite investments into our city, so that city can grow; may not be with chain restaurants and businesses, but individuals like immigrants who want to invest in our city. We should welcome them to do so.
What is your vision for vital downtown areas?
I don’t like the downtown concept. I want the city development in all directions uniformly throughout the city, which will help minimize the future traffic congestion and will help appreciate property values equally.
